On May 14th, the CELC met at the Weyerhaeuser Headquarters in Federal Way in order to review Navigant Consulting interim Phase 2 report.  The actual Phase 2 report will be delivered in late June, but this document gave the Council insight into the process being used and the decisions being made in Phase 2 of the project.  You can view the report here.

UPDATE, 16 APRIL 2010:

Based on CELC comments received at the April 2nd CELC meeting, Navigant has updated its Phase 1 report.  The most recent version can be viewed here.

The most recent CELC meeting was held at PNNL's campus in the Tri-Cities on April 2nd, 2010.  The successful meeting was highlighted by Navigant Consulting's presentation of the Phase 1 report to the CELC as well as an introduction to Tri-City Development Council's (TRIDEC) DOE Energy Park opportunity and a tour of PNNL's Energy Infrastructure Operations Center (EIOC).

On Thursday, February 18th, Dr. Arun Mujamdar, Director of ARAP-E, visited Seattle.  After a full day of meetings with everyone from Bill Gates to multiple UW faculty and students, Dr. Majumdar had dinner with the members of the Clean Energy Leadership Council.  

Dr. Majumdar's insights and observations regarding ARPA-E and the role the Pacific Northwest will play in the new energy economy were appreciated by all in attendance  The CELC would like to thank Dr. Majumdar for taking time out of his schedule to share his views.

 Click here to access the summary document from the January 8, 2010 CELC meeting.

On January 8, 2010, the CELC held its regular meeting.  One of the goals of the meeting was to better understand how the state can build or attract large, transformative projects or "hubs."  The Council heard presentations from a variety of speakers whose presentations are available below.

• Marc Cummings, CELC Co-chair and Director of Policy & External Relations at Battelle & PNNL, presentation on how PNNL has pursued game changing energy initiatives can be downloaded here.
• Department of Commerce's Tony Usibelli gave the Council an overview of the changes made to the RFP for the second round of State Energy Program funds.  Tony's presentations can be found here.
• Dick Sheehy of CH2M Hill provided the Council a detailed look at the thought processes of companies and developers looking to site major projects in a state.  His presentation can be found here.
• Navigant Consulting provided the Council with an overview of their proposed research project that can be found here.

The CELC recently completed an interim report for the Governor and Legislature.  This report was required by the CELC's enabling legislation, SB 5921.
